Susan discovered Manoj in mid 2002, fell in love with Manasa’s philosophy-rich plus anatomically-safe breath and body awareness practices, and has been a permanent fixture ever since. A senior resident teacher at Manasa, Susan has been assisting Manoj with Manasa teacher training since 2011. Talk to her if you are interested in all things Manasa: teacher training, yoga retreats, workshops, yoga talks, etc. She is also into real foods and fasting and is happy to share this passion and knowledge with Manasa yogis as well. Her classes are known to be tough, but her students, tougher.
Penny
Long time student of Manoj’s (since 2002), Penny has been teaching at Manasa since 2007. A senior resident teacher and a compassionate mentor to aspiring Manasa teachers, Penny’s lifelong love for fitness and wellness is a real inspiration to future fitness influencers. Her classes are as creatively sequenced as her voice is soothing.
Lily
A student of Manoj’s since 2003, Lily found Manoj and Manasa at a time in her life when she was in search of improving her overall health. A resident yoga teacher at Manasa since 2006, Lily also has a strong following in the local yoga scene. Lily’s classes are fun and students like her melodic voice as she trumpets out detailed verbal cues to execute interesting maneuvers.
Say Guan
Say Guan started practicing regularly at Manasa in 2006 as a means to address the stress induced by working in the corporate world. After teacher training, her love for sharing got her to start subbing at Manasa on occasional weekends and mentor at teacher training. She became a resident teacher in 2023.. Students enjoy her classes because the sequences are well planned and her instructions detailed.
Kim
Kim discovered Manasa in 2006 and got hooked. She tried to practice as often as she could, before or after her work at an office near the studio. In 2018, after retiring from her full time job, Kim started subbing and eventually started teaching at Manasa. Her classes are especially appreciated by fellow retirees who are inspired by her flexibility and enjoy early Saturday morning movement practices.
Vanessa first stepped into Manasa in early 2021 to find out about teacher training. Subsequently, she started regular practice and was especially enthralled by Manasa movement practices. After completing teacher training in 2022, she was enthusiastic to share her yogic wisdom so she started teaching weekly at Manasa in 2023. Students love her classes as her calm presence and clear voice are conducive for enhancing relaxation in them.
Angeline
Angeline was recommended to Manasa by her partner’s parents and joined in 2021. Though most of the initial classes she joined were livestreamed due to MCO, she enjoyed and grew through her practice. When MCO was lifted, she joined the teacher training and was a constant fixture at Manasa. In 2023, despite her full time tech job’s high demands, she decided to commit to teaching a weekly vinyasa class at Manasa. Her classes are appreciated as her sequences are well planned and her delivery concise.
Nigel
We save the best for last. Nigel is most likely the first person from Manasa one would make contact with, either in person or over the phone. He handles everything from general inquiries, booking ‘rearrangements’, on-site tech support to supplies and payroll. Pleasant 99% of the time but when this camel’s back is broken, stay away for a moment. He will be back to his jolly old self soon.
