We are excited to begin a series of ‘How to’ workshops and we are starting with backbends with a focus on the Dancer pose (Natarajasana).
At this 3-hour backbend workshop, we will dive deep and uncover the following:
- explore a story involving the dance of the universe, the birth of Patanjali, and its ties to Manasa’s KCC and Cobra principles;
- indulge in the essential anatomical understanding of backbends in general;
- understand how the lengthening and strengthening of the quadriceps and hip flexors are vital for reducing stress on the spine;
- improve your understanding of the spine and working its curves;
- learn the importance of shoulder flexion and rotation for binds;
- appreciate the importance of lower back prehab strength work.
