DAY 1: How to Backbend Safer & Deeper

We are excited to begin a series of ‘How to’ workshops and we are starting with backbends with a focus on the Dancer pose (Natarajasana).

 

At this 3-hour backbend workshop, we will dive deep and uncover the following:

  • explore a story involving the dance of the universe, the birth of Patanjali, and its ties to Manasa’s KCC and Cobra principles;
  • indulge in the ⁠essential anatomical understanding of backbends in general;
  • understand how ⁠the lengthening and strengthening of the quadriceps and hip flexors are vital for reducing stress on the spine;
  • improve your understanding of the spine and working its curves;
  • learn the importance of shoulder flexion and rotation for binds;
  • appreciate the ⁠importance of lower back prehab strength work.
